About The Position

In this role, you will support material planning and/or material coordination for a small to medium project site. Planning activities will include clear identification of required materials, and details for how they will be stored and shipped. Coordination activities will include reporting of material work package statuses for installation. Your efforts will support adequate and accurate materials and equipment at the jobsite. This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.

Requirements

  • Firsthand experience working at a construction jobsite in a material coordination role that demonstrates understanding of Construction’s methods as it relates to material work front planning and implementation of work package methodologies.
  • Experience in coordinating with Project Planning teams, Engineering, and Construction to develop the integrated project schedule as it relates to the material flow model from early design development through the process of acquisition, delivery, storage, and issuance to Construction for installation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of major bulk material (i.e., pipe and steel) fabrication processes through experience working with or being assigned to a major manufacturer or fabrication facility.
  • Experience utilizing ERP material management systems to include familiarity with barcoding and RFID techniques.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft suite of tools to produce reports and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Performs material coordination activities at a jobsite within material discipline of responsibility to ensure the accurate reporting of material and equipment work package statuses for installation
  • Monitors planned inventory control mechanisms, such as min-max and bag-and-tag and uses Digital Supply Chain tools
  • Continuously performs priority allocations to ensure material availability well in advance of installation requirements
  • Coordinates material availability in support of design revisions, rework, contingency or work-around plans
  • Participates in Construction and/or Subcontractor planning meetings to be fully aware of changes in installation plans and priorities
  • Coordinates with warehouse personnel for materials to be issued direct to the installation area, as opposed to being controlled in storage
  • Coordinates the constructability look ahead meetings
  • Prepares the site constructability reports as inclusive of 30, 60, and 90-day lookaheads
  • Verifies that material requisitions clearly identify required pay items and reflect a level of detail in which materials will be shipped and identified for storage and control prior to distribution to Construction for installation
  • Coordinates material planning activities for a material discipline area of responsibility
  • Maintains direct working relationship with Project Controls, Discipline Engineers, Supply Chain, Automation Support and/or Construction Coordinator to ensure that construction personnel are provided with materials to support the completion of the construction work
  • Monitors Engineering and Supply Chain deliverable schedules to meet the construction schedule
  • Monitors materials components aspects of the project Automation Plan related data transfers between the functional groups with respect to assigned discipline area of responsibility
