About The Position

The Operational Systems Directorate (OSD) leads delivery of PNNL’s 10-year, $1.2 billion campus construction portfolio. OSD oversees operations and facility services, maintenance, and infrastructure planning. A team of nearly 800 staff comprise OSD, spanning in a wide range of disciplines. The Facilities & Infrastructure Operations (F&IO) Division is responsible for operating and maintaining PNNL’s buildings, grounds, and utilities. The F&IO team includes plant engineering, fabrication, craft services, duplicating and mail services, facility program support, relocations, and receiving. F&IO is home to approximately 363 staff including more than 250 bargaining unit (union) staff.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • 4 years of experience in the procurement of services and materials in support of operational activities.
  • Must understand office support functions and possess the abilities to effectively apply procedures, work with minimal supervision, and use discretion and good judgment about processing/disclosing sensitive or confidential information.
  • Must be able to demonstrate moderate computer skills and ability to complete work assigned by others either individually or as a team member.
  • This is a bargaining unit position and will be under the Battelle/HAMTC Labor Contract. As a condition of employment, unless otherwise exempted, the staff member will be required to join the appropriate union affiliated with the Hanford Metal Trades Council (HAMTC) after 30 days of continuous service and pay union dues or pay agency fees to such union in lieu of joining.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must obtain and maintain a HSPD-12 Personal Identify Verification (PIV) Credential.
  • Must successfully complete the applicable tier of federal background investigation post hire and receive a favorable federal adjudication.
  • Must disclose any affiliation with the government of a "country of risk" and either recuse yourself or receive approval from DOE and Battelle prior to your first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • 5-8 years background in procurement in accordance with established DOE Policies.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts and assemblies between the appropriate shop bargaining unit functional areas in accordance with on going maintenance requirements.
  • Locate, collect and/or purchase materials, parts and assemblies (material take-off work) as needed for specific maintenance work scheduled or in progress at the various shop locations.
  • Purchase routine supplies and materials for different Battelle functional groups, as directed.
  • May excess materials as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
