About The Position

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic and hard-working MAT Registered Nurse for the medical department at Cambria County Jail in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania. The RN monitors and evaluates nursing care in accordance with PrimeCare Medical's philosophy, goals, and objectives, and reports directly to the Medical Director or another mid-level practitioner. The role provides care to inmates receiving medication-assisted treatment, including Suboxone, Subutex, methadone, and Sublocade, while observing and maintaining security requirements. A two-week orientation period includes on-the-job training and shadowing nursing staff. The position is full-time, day shift, and offers a $7,500 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
Clinical decision-making ability.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to function independently and demonstrate clinical competency.
Ability to gain patients' trust and build a working relationship.

Responsibilities

Ensure the MAT team complies with established nursing standards.
Assess patients and provide comprehensive treatment and care while observing and maintaining security requirements.
Pass MAT medications and verify patients' compliance with those medications.
Monitor treatment services for patients receiving medication-assisted treatment.
Monitor and recommend methods to improve the MAT team's operational efficiency and cost containment.
Perform other services and duties as assigned by the Nurse Supervisor, Health Services Administrator, head nurse, or corporate staff.
Maintain accurate records of controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
Provide health counseling to inmates and patients.
Conduct sick call and provide provisional diagnoses and treatment for selected minor illnesses and injuries as defined by written protocol and approved by the PCM Director.
Observe, report, and document symptoms, reactions, and patient progress, and participate in formulating nursing care plans.
Implement treatment care plans that promote, maintain, and restore patient well-being.
At the beginning of every shift, take vital signs, complete assessments, and document findings for inmates and patients housed in the medical and/or mental health unit.
