About The Position

FirstGroup plc is seeking a qualified and experienced Master Technician to join the engineering team at its First Bus Glasgow Caledonia Depot. The role provides technical support by diagnosing and resolving vehicle faults, supporting updates to diagnostic equipment, and giving on-site guidance and training to engineering teams. The successful candidate will share technical information and best practices with colleagues and attend training courses to maintain technical knowledge. The role reports to the Engineering Manager and works closely with the Head of Engineering on future projects.

The position is based at Caledonia Depot, 100 Cathcart Road, Glasgow, G42 7BH. It pays £55,000 per annum and is scheduled Monday to Friday on a 37-hour week, with negotiable day-shift start and finish times. Overtime is available. Requirements

• Level 4 hybrid EV training.
• Minimum Level 3 SVQ/NVQ in PSV or HGV mechanics.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Good IT literacy.
• Strong communication skills and an interest in supporting colleagues.
• Able to attend training courses away from home when required.
• Qualified and experienced as a technician.
• Confirm the right to work in the UK and undergo recruitment background checks.

Nice To Haves

• PSV or HGV experience.
• REME qualification and ex-Forces experience.
• Experience as an engineer in another automotive sector.
