About The Position

Master Teacher 1, Master Teacher 2, and Master Teacher 3 are current students in the Master Teacher Certification Program. Candidates for the Master Teacher 1 group are selected by their District Managers and nominated to participate in the program. During the nine-month program, candidates complete coursework on their own time from home and meet weekly deadlines as they develop into coaches, mentors, and role models for their peers. Master Teacher candidates earn a pay increase upon completion of each program level.

Requirements

• Must hold a current Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA), an associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or elementary education, or an equivalent qualification.
• Must have a Performance Review score of successful or higher.
• Must have at least 2 years of early childhood experience.
• Must work daily in an Infant, Toddler, Two’s, Early Preschool, Preschool, or Pre-K classroom.
• Must have been employed with Learning Care Group for at least 90 days prior to the program start date.

Responsibilities

• Take the lead on classroom management and curriculum implementation, and serve as an expert on licensing guidelines and company standards.
• Support the development of existing teachers to improve program quality within the school.
• Serve as a resource in educational programming, developmentally appropriate practice, and behavior guidance.
• Help school management train new hires.
• Practice respectful communication and maintain productive relationships with peers and the families they serve.
• Participate in a two-week practicum in a peer’s classroom.
