About The Position

The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing the master production schedule to ensure on-time delivery to customers. This position balances demand, capacity, and material availability to support company revenue goals and customer satisfaction. The Master Planner works closely with production, purchasing, engineering, and sales to create efficient, achievable schedules while driving continuous improvement in planning processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Equivalent experience (5+ years of experience in production planning or master scheduling, ideally in electronics manufacturing or a similar high-mix, low-to-medium volume environment.) may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (Syteline is a plus).
  • Excellent understanding of production planning, capacity management, and inventory control.
  • Ability to interpret demand forecasts and translate them into actionable production schedules.
  • Skilled in data analysis and reporting using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Must have advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) processes and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a focus on meeting deadlines and revenue goals.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication, both verbal and written.
  • Multi-tasking and able to adjust to changing priorities.
  • Able to work under pressure and with tight timelines.

  • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for production planning and inventory control.
  • Skilled in advanced Excel functions and data analysis tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Strong understanding of SIOP processes, capacity planning, and lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the master production schedule to meet customer demand, inventory targets, and capacity constraints.
  • Coordinate with procurement, production, engineering, and sales teams to align schedules with material availability and resource planning.
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure schedule feasibility, resolve constraints, and meet critical delivery deadlines.
  • Monitor work-in-progress (WIP), backlog, and finished goods inventory to ensure schedule adherence and timely delivery.
  • Analyze capacity and lead times to identify potential bottlenecks and proactively adjust schedules.
  • Use ERP/MRP systems to generate and manage production orders, ensuring data accuracy and timely updates.
  • Communicate schedule changes and priorities clearly to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Support new product introductions (NPIs) by integrating launch timelines into the master schedule.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, schedule attainment, and forecast accuracy.
  • Lead production planning meetings and provide visibility into short- and long-term scheduling outlooks.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance scheduling efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Own the production schedule’s impact on revenue by aligning output with customer demand, shipment targets, and financial forecasts.
  • Manage ERP implementation/improvement activities.
  • Align production schedules with revenue targets by ensuring timely fulfillment of customer orders and minimizing shipment delays.
  • Collaborate with finance and program management teams to forecast revenue impact based on production capacity, material constraints, and demand fluctuations.
  • Monitor backlog and order prioritization to support revenue recognition goals and quarterly financial performance.
  • Identify schedule risks that could affect revenue and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
  • Provide visibility into schedule-driven revenue projections during executive planning and S&OP meetings.
  • Support cost-effective scheduling decisions that balance inventory levels, labor utilization, and throughput efficiency.
  • Actively participate in the SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) process to align production schedules with demand forecasts, inventory targets, and business objectives.
  • Serve as a scheduling authority by guiding cross-functional teams toward aligned production priorities and deadlines.
  • Influence decision-making through data-driven insights that impact capacity planning, inventory control, and revenue forecasting.
  • Lead planning meetings and facilitate consensus across departments to ensure schedule adherence and operational efficiency.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to production, procurement, and engineering teams by anticipating risks and proposing proactive solutions.
  • Champion accountability and transparency in schedule execution, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
