About The Position

The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing near-term finite production schedules that translate approved supply plans into reliable manufacturing execution. This role works in close partnership with Supply Planning, Operations, Procurement, and other supporting functions to balance material availability, labor and equipment constraints, customer requirements, and operational efficiency. The Master Scheduler plays a critical role in enabling service reliability, schedule adherence, and continuous improvement within the manufacturing network.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in production scheduling, manufacturing planning, or a related role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing short-term production schedules in constrained, fast-paced operations.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and make effective decisions in time-sensitive, constraint-driven environments.
  • Clear, timely, and inclusive communication with operators, planners, and leaders.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills across functions.
  • High attention to detail with a bias for execution and follow-through.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Convert approved supply plans into executable finite production schedules that support customer service, inventory, and cost objectives.
  • Maintain and execute near-term production schedules, optimizing sequencing, run lengths, and changeovers to meet required ship dates.
  • Evaluate and balance labor, material, and equipment constraints to support efficient utilization of manufacturing assets.
  • Proactively identify schedule risks related to material availability, labor constraints, equipment downtime, quality issues, or engineering changes.
  • Adjust production schedules as needed and clearly communicate changes, priorities, risks, and recovery plans to Operations, Supply Planning, and other stakeholders.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Procurement, Distribution, Quality, and Customer Service to resolve execution issues and minimize service disruption.
  • Monitor and support performance against key operational metrics such as schedule adherence, attainment, service level, fill rate, and inventory targets.
  • Analyze production output, material usage, and related data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling parameters, routings, bills of material, and capacity assumptions within planning systems.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects that enhance planning accuracy, execution reliability, and operational performance.
