About The Position

This internship is for master's-level students pursuing social work or counseling. Interns work with the organization and their school to gain the knowledge and experience required for their chosen field. Internship options include Children's Residential Center, Foster Care, and Outpatient Counseling. Depending on the intern's interests and location, placements may be available in Ashland, Richland, Stark, or Wayne Counties in Ohio. The internship is paid, depending on education level and department. Interns receive priority consideration for open positions after graduation or achievement of LSW/LPC credentials. Most trainings are first shift and state-required. Any job offer upon graduation is contingent on achieving LSW or LPC credentials.

Requirements

Be enrolled in a master's-level, license-eligible social work or counseling program.
Any post-graduation job offer is contingent on achieving LSW or LPC.
Complete required background checks, including fingerprinting, drug testing, reference checks, a Department of Justice National Sex Offender Search, and Ohio (and other states of residence) Alleged Perpetrator Search, along with other checks required by the licensing agency.
Candidates for most jobs must be at least 21 years old.
Must be able to commute reliably for on-site positions.
Some roles require a valid Ohio driver's license and an insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

Participate in an internship aligned with the intern's field of interest and school requirements.
Complete state-required trainings, most of which are held on first shift.
Indicate in the cover letter intended use of the counseling/social work degree, required type of supervision, and preferred internship focus area.
