Master's Fellowship in National Security

The University of Texas at Austin•Austin, TX

About The Position

The Clements Center for National Security and the Intelligence Studies Project at the University of Texas at Austin seek master's students for a fellowship during the 2026–2027 academic year. The fellowship is intended for students who plan to pursue careers relevant to national or international security after graduation; it is not designed for students who intend to continue in academia by pursuing a PhD or another professional degree after completing their master's degree. Fellows must attend required programming throughout the fall and spring semesters. Seminars, meetings, and workshops do not confer academic credit and are often scheduled in the morning, at lunchtime, or in the evening to avoid class conflicts. Longer meetings may include weekend events. No required meetings will be held in Austin during the summer semester. Accepted students are encouraged to apply for funding to attend language-intensive study or other approved programs at UT or other higher education institutions. Applications are accepted until October 1, 2026. A second application round may open in January 2027, but this is not guaranteed. Applicants must apply using their official UT email address; official correspondence will not be sent to personal email addresses.
