About The Position
The Whitman Counseling Center is a community-based outpatient behavioral health clinic dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to underserved populations. We offer a full continuum of services, including individual, family, couples, and group therapy, as well as psychiatric medication management. Our mission is to help individuals and families overcome challenges, build resilience, and achieve meaningful growth through accessible, high-quality mental health services.
Requirements
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related clinical field required
- Must be eligible for independent licensure within two (2) years
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills
- Sensitivity to cultural diversity and commitment to inclusive care
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities
- Strong time-management skills and ability to manage a flexible caseload
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments and clinical evaluations
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to client needs and goals
- Provide individual therapy services in-person and via telehealth
- Maintain a minimum of eight (8) client contact hours per week
- Deliver evidence-based, client-centered interventions
- Support individuals ages 5 and older in achieving treatment goals and improving overall well-being
- Collaborate with psychiatric providers, clinicians, and community partners to ensure comprehensive care
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and case consultation
- Coordinate referrals and additional services when clinically appropriate
- Maintain timely, accurate, and thorough clinical documentation
- Ensure compliance with BAMSI, DPH, DMH, CARF, and other regulatory standards
- Uphold ethical and professional standards of clinical practice
