About The Position

Vredevoogd is seeking an experienced Master Plumber to join their team. This role involves providing outstanding customer service, diagnosing, repairing, and installing residential plumbing systems with a high level of technical expertise. The Master Plumber will ensure all work complies with codes and regulations, troubleshoot complex issues, and lead/support apprentices. The position requires maintaining clean job sites, assisting with department growth, inspecting completed work, and maintaining tools and vehicles. Collaboration with office staff and field teams is essential, as is representing the company with professionalism and integrity. Adherence to safety procedures and promotion of a safe workplace culture are also key expectations.

Requirements

  • Valid Master Plumber License required.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with insurability through Vredevoogd’s insurance carrier.
  • Ability to pass initial and random drug screenings, as well as a comprehensive national background check.
  • Extensive knowledge of residential plumbing systems, codes, and industry best practices.
  • Proven leadership experience in residential plumbing service and installation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to lift over 75 lbs, climb in and out of vehicles, and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Commitment to professionalism, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Must live within 45 minutes of Lansing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service with clear, professional communication.
  • Diagnose, repair, and install residential plumbing systems with a high level of technical expertise.
  • Ensure all plumbing work complies with local and state plumbing codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex plumbing issues and provide effective long-term solutions.
  • Lead and support apprentices and junior plumbers by providing training, mentorship, and technical guidance.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
  • Assist with department growth by promoting efficiency, quality workmanship, and team accountability.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure customer satisfaction and code compliance.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in excellent condition.
  • Collaborate with office staff and field teams to ensure projects are completed successfully and on schedule.
  • Represent the company with professionalism, integrity, and a positive attitude.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and help promote a culture of workplace safety.
