Master Mainline Service Technician/Mechanic
About The Position
Cavender Subaru of Midland Odessa, a Cavender Auto Family dealership in Midland, Texas, is seeking a Master Mainline Service Technician to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs. The role involves working efficiently to dealership standards, diagnosing and repairing automotive systems, using diagnostic equipment, and communicating additional service needs and repair estimates to Service Advisors. The technician will also complete warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications, maintain accurate work records, and keep the work area orderly and safe. The dealership reports an estimated pay range of $40–$55 per flag hour and an average of 40 hours per work week. A Master Technician sign-on bonus of $12,000 is paid at $1,000 per month over one year. The dealership currently has six service stalls and expects to move into a new building in 2027 with 12 stalls. It estimates 360 repair orders per month currently, increasing to 450–500 per month after the move. Requirements
- Previous experience as a service technician.
- Strong automotive background.
- Valid driver's license.
- Submit to and successfully complete an MVR check, background check, and pre-employment drug test.
Nice To Haves
- Manufacturer ASE certifications are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform work specified on repair orders efficiently and in accordance with dealership standards.
- Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
- Communicate with Service Advisors about additional service needs so customers can be informed, and provide an estimate of the time needed for additional repairs.
- Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
- Perform warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
