Master Mainline Service Technician/Mechanic
About The Position
Cavender Auto Family is seeking a Mainline Service Technician for Cadillac of Lubbock in Lubbock, Texas. It involves diagnosing automotive systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment, test-driving vehicles, communicating repair needs and time estimates to Service Advisors, maintaining accurate work records, and keeping the work area clean and safe. Incentives include up to $15,000 in sign-on bonuses based on level and certifications, up to $10,000 in relocation assistance reimbursement, and— for recent graduates of an accredited technical school who graduated within the last 24 months—$625 per month in tuition reimbursement for two years, up to $15,000 total. The dealership also offers access to a GM World Class Technician and quarterly professional growth and development training.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a service technician.
- Strong automotive background.
- Valid driver's license.
- Submit to and successfully complete an MVR check, background check, and pre-employment drug test.
Nice To Haves
- Manufacturer ASE certifications preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform work specified on repair orders efficiently and according to dealership standards.
- Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
- Communicate with Service Advisors about additional service needs so customers can be informed, and estimate the time needed for additional repairs.
- Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
- Perform warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications.
- Keep the work area clean and orderly and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
