About The Position

Midtown is looking for a Massage Therapist to ensure that members and guests have luxurious spa experiences. As an integral part of the spa team, the Massage Therapist is a qualified, attentive professional dedicated to the well-being and satisfaction of our members and guests. They view massage therapy as an essential component of health, recovery, and prevention, and take a therapeutic approach by assessing client needs and recommending the care necessary for optimal results. They stay current with massage therapy trends and techniques and actively contribute to the club’s success by educating clients on the benefits of massage and personalized treatment plans.

Requirements

  • Certificate or diploma from an accredited massage therapy school.
  • Current membership with a recognized professional association that allows insurance receipts to be issued.
  • At least one year of hands-on massage therapy experience.
  • Strong focus on helping clients recover, prevent injuries, and maintain overall well-being.
  • Excellent customer service and clear communication skills.
  • Reliable, professional, independent, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome members and guests in a professional, warm, and attentive manner, establishing trust from the first interaction.
  • Assess each client’s physical needs and wellness or recovery goals through a professional consultation.
  • View massage therapy as an essential tool for prevention, recovery, and overall health, and recommend treatments tailored to each client’s specific needs.
  • Prescribe and clearly explain personalized treatment plans (frequency, types of massages, follow-ups) to optimize therapeutic results.
  • Deliver high-quality massage therapy treatments using current, safe, and proven techniques.
  • Regularly check client comfort during the session and adjust pressure, technique, or approach as needed.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain the treatment room (ambience, lighting, music, equipment) to ensure a luxurious and relaxing experience.
  • Maintain strict standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in treatment rooms and spa areas.
  • Manage linens, waste disposal, and equipment storage at the end of each service.
  • Collaborate with other members of the spa and club team to provide a consistent and exceptional member experience.
  • Participate in promoting massage therapy services and contribute to departmental goals through an educational and professional approach.
  • Stay up to date with new massage therapy techniques, trends, and best practices.
