About The Position

American Institute is seeking a part-time Massage Therapy Instructor to provide hands-on training and guidance to students. The instructor will be responsible for delivering comprehensive course instruction, fostering student academic growth and professional development, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. This role involves creating and revising lesson plans, grading assignments, and utilizing instructional aids to support student learning. The instructor will also play a role in course development and may be required to enhance the curriculum with additional materials and activities. Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Minimum three years of experience in the field
  • Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT)

  • Prior teaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for comprehensive course instruction within specified program.
  • Responsible for providing Program Director/Director of Education with active input in course development (i.e., course descriptions, syllabus creation, textbook material, or equipment review).
  • Responsible for the creation and revision of daily lesson plans.
  • Responsible for continued professional growth by attending in-service training and/or continuing education seminars and to attend faculty meetings.
  • Responsible for accurate record keeping of student attendance and academic progress.
  • Responsible for creating a classroom environment which fosters students’ academic growth and guides their professional development.
  • Responsible for keeping DOE apprised of student progress (i.e., academic and attendance), especially in terms of performance trends detrimental to the development of a firm educational foundation (academic advisement and early warning forms).
  • Responsible for providing extra help to those students experiencing difficulty in the mastery of course work.
  • Responsible for advising students who have minor problems which may be thwarting educational progress.
  • Responsible for referring students whom have major problems to the Program Director/Director of Education.
  • Correct and return quizzes, tests and lab assignments within 48 hours.
  • Utilize instructional and audiovisual aids, and all available resources in the online learning environment.
  • Responsible to demonstrate utilization of community resources through arranging guest speakers, field trips and class participation in community service events.
  • Report damaged, broken, or malfunction equipment immediately to the Program Director/Director of Education.
  • Required to turn in grades within 48 hours of the end of term.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Program Director/Director of Education.
  • Enhance the curriculum by devising assignments, worksheets, notes, tests and answer keys, and activities as necessary.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and carefully follows all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education, accrediting agencies, state regulations and, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate and quickly escalate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.
