Reporting to the Director, Massage Therapy and Treatments, the Massage Therapy and Treatments Manager is responsible for the overall management of department operations, including service planning, coordination, and optimization, human resources management, and operational and financial performance. The Manager ensures a high-quality guest experience by maintaining exceptional standards of service, cleanliness, and efficiency, while contributing to the development of new offerings and the growth of the department. The role also includes managing independent contractors, including coordination, communication, and administrative follow-up related to their engagement.

Requirements

  • Postsecondary diploma and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant leadership experience.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is required, as nearly 75% of our guests are English-speaking.
  • Strong knowledge of the wellness, tourism, or hospitality industry.
  • Ability to frequently move between multiple floors and to lift, carry, and handle heavy loads as part of daily responsibilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows applications.
  • Strong delegation, leadership, and operational management skills, with experience managing high-volume operations or equivalent environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing work conditions, and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Strong work ethic and sense of accountability within a team environment.
  • Ability to use computer systems and retail software related to customer relationship management, reporting functions, accounting, scheduling, inventory maintenance, and cash-handling procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of SpaBooker and LightSpeed Retail is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the department.
  • Ensure staff training is conducted to exceed established standards.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of services and supervise the coordination and planning of all spa-related services in accordance with company policies, philosophy, and objectives.
  • Interview and select candidates, and effectively supervise, coach, discipline, and evaluate employee performance.
  • Ensure department cleanliness and that all equipment is maintained in excellent working condition. Report deficiencies to the appropriate department.
  • Anticipate material and supply needs and ensure adequate availability at all times.
  • Support the development of new treatments and concepts to keep the Spa at the forefront of the industry.
  • Interact with guests by providing comprehensive knowledge and assistance to maximize their experience in a friendly yet discreet manner.
  • Schedule staff and complete payroll records and reports in accordance with budget guidelines.
  • Oversee asset administration, requisitions, inventories, storage, and the cost-effective use of all department-related materials and resources to ensure smooth operations.
  • Drive growth by increasing revenue and daily operational efficiency while maintaining a positive atmosphere throughout the spa.
  • Communicate with independent contractors regarding invoicing and tax matters.
  • Support and coordinate the team of self-employed massage therapists, including recruitment, scheduling, and operational follow-up.
