About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: The Massage Therapist is responsible for planning, organizing, and providing medically prescribed massage therapy that creates a caring and safe environment, addressing the comfort needs of patients, and positively impacting the patients’ health status, feeling of wellness, and/or quality of life.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Massage Therapy program to consist of at least 500 classroom hours.
  • Licensed as a Massage Therapist/Bodyworker in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Ongoing completion of any education requirements to maintain license as applicable
  • Minimum of two years of clinical massage experience.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and abides by agency’s HIPAA policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make independent judgments.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and handle multiple tasks/projects concurrently
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Display and promote high standards of ethical conduct and behaviors consistent with organizational standards
  • Job involves standing more than four hours per day; stooping, bending, lifting/pushing up to 25 lbs. etc. are regularly required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides massage therapy services to assigned caseload per plan of treatment.
  • Prior to providing service, ensures physicians order is obtained by RN Case Manager.
  • Conducts teaching to patient and/or family as determined appropriate.
  • Communicates with RN Case Manager as needed regarding changes in patient’s status.
  • Makes referrals to other appropriate health care workers as necessary in consultation with RN Case Manager.
  • Instructs and coordinates activities with other team members in duties to be done for specific patient situations on an ongoing basis.
  • Complies with standard precautions and standard infection control protocols and general safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintains accurate, complete documentation of activities for medical record.
  • Ensures documentation is on the medical record at least 48–72 hours following the provision of care.
  • Prepares written summary of patient status for the physician to be sent at least every two weeks.
  • Provides appropriate office staff with notification of visits made daily and turns in written verification of visits on a 48–72-hour basis.
