About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Massage Therapist is to deliver excellence in quality Spa services to guests, visitors, and members in a timely, courteous, and efficient manner. This role involves escorting clients to and from treatment rooms, attending to their immediate needs throughout their Spa visit, assisting with information inquiries, and helping to coordinate all guest requests for services.

Requirements

  • Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs.
  • Ability to give a timely Spa service, providing a relaxing and beneficial experience to each Guest.
  • Knowledge of draping procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to focus attention on Guest needs and remain calm and courteous.
  • Ability to remain quiet during treatments.
  • Ability to promote positive relations with all individuals who approach the Spa.
  • Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform required minimum of treatments per shift.
  • Ability to work cohesively with other departments and co-workers as part of a team.
  • Ability to recommend and sell Spa products and services for in-house or for at home care.
  • Knowledge of all Massage and Body Treatments offered.
  • Ability to remain stationary at assigned post for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to think clearly, quickly, maintain concentration and make concise decisions.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up. Ability to focus attention on details.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all guest information and pertinent hotel data.
  • Ability to read, write and speak basic English sufficient to understand and communicate with employees and guests, understand information and instructions, read labels, and complete required department forms.
  • One to three years previous experience in a Spa, Private Practice, Doctor’s Office, Chiropractor’s Office or any combination
  • Current Illinois state Massage license required.

  • Luxury Spa experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain complete knowledge of Spa Services, Products and Fitness Programs.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of Forbes, Chuan Spa, and The Langham standards and comply with hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Set up workstation and treatment room by following sanitation protocols and stocking with necessary supplies. Maintain cleanliness throughout shift by following sanitation protocols.
  • Accommodate all guest requests expediently and courteously.
  • Handle guest complaints by following the instant guest pacification procedures and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Assists to maintain cleanliness of prep room/Spa/locker rooms/treatment rooms following sanitation protocols.
  • Escort guests to and from treatments.
  • Maintain cleanliness of Spa and treatment areas.
