About The Position

The primary objective of the House Attendant position at The Langham, Chicago, is to ensure the cleanliness of guest floor corridors, foyers, stairwells, and public areas, and to assist Housekeeping colleagues in maintaining Langham and Forbes standards of quality. Requirements

  • Knowledge of stain removal and chemical cleaning agents, and operation of different types of equipment.
  • Ability to learn how to properly work with hazardous chemicals in accordance with company standards.
  • Ability to read and write basic English to complete forms such as a room status report.
  • Ability to organize and prioritized work and meet deadlines.
  • Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous luxury hotel experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all areas are kept free of soiled linen and trash.
  • Stock closets with all supplies and linen as directed.
  • Obtain amenities and supplies for room attendants as directed.
  • Pick up and sanitize glasses according to hotel policy.
  • Keep butler pantries and housekeeping storage areas clean and neat.
  • Vacuum, sweep, and/or mop hallways, stairwells and foyers as needed.
  • Clean and remove spots from corridor walls and doors.
  • Polish and clean mirrors, room numbers on guestroom doors, and elevator rooms.
  • Flip mattresses and move furniture as assigned by supervisor.
  • Be able to do laundry, clean rooms, and public area.
  • Support in other areas such as laundry, public area, and room attendants during slow season.
  • Respond to guest questions.
  • Provide guest assistance, directions and/or escort guests, and provide information as requested.
  • Provide service to hotel guests as specified in Langham and Forbes service standards.
  • Ensure to always be immaculately dressed according to hotel standards.
  • Assist with any other requests from supervisor.
