About The Position

Primary Function: Lead and motivate, in all efforts for safety, production, quality control, schedule, budget adherence, and daily on-site activities associated with masonry. Serves as an area superintendent on a large project or as the lead superintendent on a small to medium project.

Requirements

  • Completed OSHA 30 Hour Course for Construction
  • Current First Aid Certification
  • Proficient in all aspects of Assistant Masonry Superintendent.
  • Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
  • Understands navigation and use of project management software or similar software.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to lead an onsite team.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develops the overall construction plans for the masonry elements of a project in conjunction with the GC team.
  • Reads and interprets plans and specifications from the Architect/Engineer and can communicate these to others.
  • Oversees masonry aspects of construction to ensure compliance with the scope, quality, and building codes as established by the contract documents.
  • Reads, implements, and effectively adjusts project schedules for project conditions.
  • Applies Quality Control Practices.
  • Identifies pre-mobilization activities in conjunction with the project team and GC team.
  • Conducts inspections and audits of masonry activities and processes.
  • Attends, mobilization, coordination, and closeout meetings.
  • Directs M. B. Kahn personnel and subcontractors by scheduling and sequencing the day to day activities of work.
  • Manages tool and equipment utilization for the project to ensure our resources are used efficiently.
  • Leads weekly Safety Meeting for Masonry Team.
  • Mentors Assistant Superintendents, Foremen, and others assigned to the project.
  • Performs reviews of direct report personnel.
  • Produces accurate Project Daily reports for areas assigned.
  • Ability to forecast labor and material needs for the project or area assigned.
  • Participates in the presentation of an RFP when required.
  • Promotes and maintains positive relationships with the Owner/Architect/Engineer/General Contractor.
  • Works with Project Manager/Project Engineer to manage subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Proactively anticipates and solves problems that could delay construction.
  • Identifies, nurtures, and solicits future business opportunities for M. B. Kahn.
  • Maintains assigned company assets.
  • Assists Project Manager in development and periodic updates of project schedule for areas assigned.
  • Implements and adheres to M. B. Kahn’s Safety Program, OSHA guidelines, and Company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Promotes integrity, honesty, hard work, safety, and quality throughout all aspects of the project and is a professional representative of M. B. Kahn.
  • Performs additional assignments as directed by management or as required for successful project completion.
