About The Position

SSRG is seeking an experienced Mason to join our construction team. In this role, you will build, repair, and maintain brick, block, stone, and concrete structures with a strong focus on craftsmanship, accuracy, and safety. You will work from plans and specifications, use professional masonry tools and equipment, and collaborate with project teams to deliver durable, high-quality work. Requirements

  • 3–5 years of masonry or bricklaying experience.
  • Proficiency laying brick, stone, and block in accordance with construction plans and blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of mortar and cement mixing and application.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, plans, and related construction documents.
  • Experience using masonry tools and equipment, including trowels, levels, power saws, mixers, and other hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and inspection requirements.
  • Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and work in varying weather conditions, at heights, and in confined spaces.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing a high-quality finish.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with construction teams and clients.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when required by project deadlines, and willingness to complete additional training as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational or technical school certification in masonry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications; determine material requirements and lay out work accurately.
  • Measure and mark working surfaces and establish patterns, foundations, and guidelines according to plans.
  • Mix mortar and grout to the proper consistency and apply and smooth mixtures over work surfaces.
  • Lay and bind brick, concrete block, stone, and other masonry materials to construct walls, floors, chimney stacks, and related structures.
  • Use trowels, hammers, chisels, levels, power saws, mixers, and other hand and power tools to shape, trim, dress, and install masonry materials.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain masonry structures to support long-term durability and preservation.
  • Erect scaffolding and other installation structures in accordance with legal and safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and follow all applicable safety protocols and regulations.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other construction professionals to support project schedule, budget, quality, and craftsmanship.
  • Provide clients with appropriate recommendations for masonry maintenance and preservation.
