About The Position

Durable Restoration specializes in the preservation and restoration of historic buildings and architectural structures. Our work includes historic masonry and stone, architectural sheet metal, carpentry, and structural stabilization. We work on significant structures across federal, military, institutional, and private projects. Our goal is simple: preserve historic craftsmanship, protect the character of these structures, and extend their life for generations to come. We are looking for experienced masons to join our restoration team. This is an opportunity to apply your masonry skills to challenging and meaningful restoration projects while developing specialized skills in historic masonry, stone repair, and lime mortar systems. Historic restoration experience is a plus, but it is not required. We provide paid training for the right candidate.

Requirements

  • Masonry experience and the ability to work efficiently
  • Interest in learning historic masonry and restoration techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in your craftsmanship
  • Reliable work ethic and ability to work as part of a team
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work safely from ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and other elevated work platforms

Nice To Haves

  • Historic restoration experience
  • Experience with repointing or masonry repair
  • Additional experience in carpentry, roofing, or metal work

Responsibilities

  • Restoration and preservation of historic masonry and stone structures
  • Repointing and repair of aging masonry systems
  • Stone and masonry repair and replacement
  • Working with lime-based mortars and other specialty restoration materials
  • Projects involving historic, federal, military, and institutional structures
  • Working alongside carpenters, sheet metal workers, and other restoration trades
  • Detailed craftsmanship where quality and preservation matter
