About The Position

DeLeers Construction is growing its Masonry Team and is seeking a Mason Tender to assist experienced Masons. This role involves performing physical labor at residential and commercial construction sites. Responsibilities include project setup, materials management, preparing various materials, and maintaining organized and clean job sites, trailers, tools, and materials. Mason Tenders will also support Masons, Crew Leads, and others to complete projects. This position offers an opportunity to learn alongside Masons and potentially advance to a Mason position with acquired experience and skills. DeLeers Construction specializes in the design and build of high-end residential homes and commercial buildings, guiding customers from design through construction. With over 80 years in business and more than 180 employees, the company is recognized for its unique and quality builds. Crews primarily work in the Brown and Door county areas of Wisconsin, with most work allowing employees to return home the same day, supplemented by minimal overnights and travel pay.

Requirements

  • Must be able to perform tasks involving physical labor.
  • Must be able to switch between tasks throughout the day as situations arise or move from one type of material to the next.
  • Must be able to keep up with a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to inspect all work to ensure quality and accuracy with levels, rules, tape measures, squares, and other equipment, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Ability to follow all established safety rules and regulations, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Frequently required to walk; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Prolonged standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling are required regularly.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
  • Builds concrete forms, scaffolds, platforms, screening fences, and temporary shelters on the job site.
  • Supports the masons by supplying materials to the work area.
  • Preps materials as needed, including mixing mortar and grout, and cutting materials such as brick, block, and stone.
  • Builds scaffold and other work platforms as needed.
  • Transports materials, equipment, and other necessary items.
  • Takes direction from the team to ensure the flow of work and completion of tasks.
  • Operates heavy equipment once trained.
  • Ensures that the jobsite, work trailers, and work areas are kept clean and organized.
  • Keeps the masonry foreman updated on remaining material quantities.
  • Assists masons in daily operations as required.
  • Switches between tasks throughout the day as situations arise or moves from one type of material to the next.
  • Maintains pace in a fast-paced environment.
  • Inspects all work for quality and accuracy using levels, rules, tape measures, squares, and other equipment, making necessary adjustments.
  • Follows all established safety rules and regulations, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintains a safe and clean environment on the jobsite.
