About The Position

DanceBUG is a leader in dance media and event software, powering competitions and studios across North America. They provide professional photo and video, registration, scheduling, tabulation, and streaming tools to help the dance industry run seamlessly on and off the stage. For nearly 25 years, DanceBUG has built innovative products while capturing moments for dancers and their families. The role involves supporting the DanceBUG mascot at live events. This position is part handler and part content creator, focused on creating memorable experiences and capturing moments that make the mascot unforgettable for social and marketing use.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
Strong communication and organizational skills
Comfortable engaging with kids, families, and large crowds
Outgoing, positive, and quick on your feet
Responsible, punctual, and team-oriented
Available weekends (Friday–Sunday) from May through July
Willing to travel (car and occasional flights)

Nice To Haves

Experience in dance or event environments is a bonus

Responsibilities

Support the mascot performer with costume setup, adjustments, and quick changes
Guide and assist the mascot safely through busy event spaces
Act as the voice of the mascot, engaging with dancers, families, and event staff
Manage crowds and photo moments, keeping interactions fun and organized
Keep appearances on schedule and communicate timing clearly
Stay aware of surroundings to ensure the safety of both the performer and guests
Capture photo and video content of mascot interactions for social and marketing use
Look for authentic, high-energy moments that reflect the DanceBUG brand
