Marking Lead, PMM

Sumble Inc

About The Position

Sumble is hiring a senior individual contributor to own product marketing. This foundational marketing-team role will shape how Sumble presents its account-intelligence product to buyers and the market. The role has no direct reports and carries ownership of product marketing work, including positioning, launches, buyer research, competitive intelligence, and analyst relations. It works closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, RevOps, Growth, Content, and company leadership. The position serves as the voice of the market in product planning, using customer, deal, competitor, and company data to inform roadmaps. It owns Sumble’s positioning and messaging, communicates the shift from contact data to actionable account context, and runs launches from planning through measurement. It also turns jobs-to-be-done research into tailored solutions for RevOps, GTM engineers, and marketers, while ensuring claims are honest and evidence-backed. The role leads competitive intelligence and sales enablement, contributes to live competitive deals, and manages relationships with industry analysts and other third-party research voices. Sumble expects the hire to work with high ownership, use AI tools in practical workflows, and take projects from open-ended questions through execution. The hiring process includes a practical project.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of B2B product marketing experience, ideally in GTM technology such as data, sales technology, RevOps platforms, or developer and AI tools sold to technical buyers.
  • Experience owning positioning for a technical product and explaining technical concepts such as an API, MCP server, or data model to both executive buyers and technical users.
  • A track record of product launches that increased adoption and pipeline, with measurement of results.
  • Experience using evidence to challenge a product roadmap and change what was built.
  • Experience building distinct solutions for different personas while maintaining a coherent overall story.
  • Experience running a competitive program used by Sales.
  • Strong interest in data and comfort working with raw data.
  • Demonstrated AI fluency in real production workflows, with concrete examples of work improved or accelerated using an AI stack.
  • A highly independent individual-contributor operating style, including ruthless prioritization and making decisions without waiting for permission.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with agents, MCP, and Claude or Cursor, including the ability to build a simple demo from product documentation.
  • Experience with analyst relations or third-party research programs.
  • Experience as a RevOps lead, GTM engineer, or marketer, or substantial experience selling to those audiences.
  • Experience coordinating consultants, agencies, and freelancers to extend output.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the market in product roadmap and planning discussions, using evidence to challenge what the company builds and why.
  • Track changes in GTM teams, data vendors, and agent-era tools, and write memos explaining implications for Product and company founders.
  • Run win/loss and buyer research and share actionable findings with Product and Sales.
  • Own Sumble’s positioning and messaging architecture, including product-level messaging and supporting proof points.
  • Develop messaging that explains the shift from contacts to context and the value of account intelligence and signals for people and agents.
  • Run product launches end to end, including tiering, messaging, assets, internal readiness, and post-launch measurement.
  • Partner early with Product and Engineering to shape launches based on market needs.
  • Own launch and feature awareness, working with Growth on lifecycle and in-product moments and with Content on the story.
  • Turn jobs-to-be-done research into solutions for RevOps, GTM engineers, and marketers.
  • Package each solution with its problem, use case, demo path, proof, and assets for Sales and Marketing.
  • Keep product messaging honest and evidence-backed, explaining data sources and why the data is reliable.
  • Own competitive intelligence across data vendors, intent platforms, and agent-era tools.
  • Build and maintain useful competitive battle cards and update Sales as the competitive landscape changes.
  • Join live deals where competition affects the outcome and feed learnings into positioning.
  • Manage relationships with industry analysts and third-party research voices, including briefings, inquiries, and coverage.
  • Incorporate external market data and research into Sumble’s positioning and validate the company’s data story against it.
  • Experiment with AI tools and share effective practices with the team.
  • Use Sumble’s platform as a research tool and uphold evidence-based reporting.
