About The Position

FCS Financial is seeking three Marketplace Interns for a 12-week summer experience. This program is designed to help interns explore career opportunities, build professional skills, and gain real-world exposure to the finance side of Missouri Agriculture. Interns will learn how FCS Financial supports agriculture and rural communities, gaining hands-on experience in lending, customer relationships, and business operations. The internship aims to help participants build their network, develop new skills, find a career path, and experience the company's "One Team" culture.

Requirements

  • Current college sophomore (Completed 30 Credits), junior (Completed 60 Credits), first-semester senior, or graduate student.
  • Pursuing a degree in Agricultural Business, Agricultural Economics, Animal Science, Agronomy, Agricultural Education, Agricultural Communications, General Agriculture, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • General knowledge of agriculture, rural communities, financial services, and FCS Financial.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • College sophomores, juniors, first semester seniors, or graduate students
  • Desired degree programs are Agricultural Business, Agricultural Economics, Animal Science, Agronomy, Agricultural Education, Agricultural Communications, General Agriculture, Business, Finance
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • General knowledge of FCS Financial
  • General knowledge of the agricultural industry
  • General knowledge of agriculture/rural communities
  • General knowledge of financial services industry
  • General knowledge of basic financial/accounting terms and applications
  • Skill in using Microsoft technologies including e-mail, word and spreadsheet processing
  • Oral and written communication skills sufficient to discuss a variety of job-related topics, and to effectively communicate complex topics to a variety of audiences
  • Responsible to appropriately protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the Association’s systems and data and clients’ data

Responsibilities

  • Work with industry professionals across the Association and learn how FCS Financial serves its member owners throughout Missouri.
  • Be partnered with a mentor from the Young Professional group for guidance and support.
  • Gain exposure to the full agricultural lending process from start to finish.
  • Explore a variety of areas FCS Financial offers, including Crop Insurance, Accounting & Finance, Credit Services, Human Resources, Legal, Loan Services, Audit, Marketing, Title Services, and Information Services.
  • Experience the "One Team" culture through collaboration, mentorship, and team activities.
  • Customize part of the internship by focusing on areas that interest the intern and align with their career goals.
  • Travel throughout Missouri and gain first-hand exposure to the agriculture industry and member owners.
  • Learn the components of the lending process.
  • Learn credit fundamentals and credit philosophy.
  • Learn the process of appraising real and chattel properties.
  • Learn the variety of risk management options offered by FCS Financial, including crop, livestock, and life insurance.
  • Complete one or more projects designed to add value to the company.
  • Presentations to the Board of Directors, senior leadership, mentors, and other staff.
  • Work with several mentors within various areas of the Association.
  • Interact with FCS staff as a team member.
  • Learn about customer relationships and marketing and contribute to FCS's image.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization.
