About The Position

The role is hybrid, combining remote and in-person work, primarily based at Enterprise Square. Reporting to the Director, Advancement Marketing, the Marketing Specialist is an energetic professional possessing excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills. This position is an integral part of a team of marketing professionals dedicated to ensuring the seamless delivery of marketing campaigns that align with the university’s brand and business priorities. A key focus of this role is on alumni social media, digital newsletter marketing, and alumni special events. The Marketing Specialist will assist internal marketing and communication teams in executing the University of Alberta’s strategic marketing plan. Additionally, the specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and providing marketing and communication services to internal partners, overseeing project management from initial planning through to execution, including workflow, budget management, and reporting. The role also involves leading the end-to-end execution of the alumni digital newsletter and social media strategy to foster high-impact engagement and community growth. The specialist will manage daily marketing activities, serving as a client service point of contact for Alumni Relations, and will create integrated marketing plans and reports for local, regional, and special alumni events. Other responsibilities include generating consumer insights, monitoring trends, developing work plans, and crafting integrated campaigns to enhance market results. The University of Alberta's Marketing team is responsible for brand stewardship and marketing activities aimed at strengthening the university brand by increasing its awareness and visibility locally, nationally, and internationally, thereby building a comprehensive university reputation to support recruitment, fundraising, and partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Support seamless delivery of marketing campaigns that drive the university’s brand and business priorities, with a dedicated focus on alumni social media, digital newsletter marketing, and alumni special events.

  • Build, execute and deliver marketing/communication services to internal partners.
