About The Position

Illinois CancerCare is seeking a Marketing Specialist to join our team! The Marketing Specialist will support internal and external marketing initiatives across multiple channels, including social media, the website, and printed practice materials. This role will handle all incoming marketing requests, provide graphic design support, assist with events, and ensure consistent, timely communication aligned with organizational branding and goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience; prior marketing experience preferred.
  • Requires full range of body motion including bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Must be able to distinguish and transcribe letters and numbers accurately.
  • Requires use of standard office equipment including telephone, copier, fax machine, scanner, and computer.

Responsibilities

  • Design marketing campaigns and materials.
  • Identify external marketing opportunities to build awareness and drive community engagement. Partner with the Manager, Foundation and Community Events on community practice clinic events.
  • Design and execute a relevant social media presence, maintain Illinois CancerCare website.
  • Work with internal staff on Illinois CancerCare materials including letterhead, business cards, giveaways, recruiting pieces, speaking engagements, announcements, crisis communications, etc.
  • Content production including articles, videos, and podcasts.
  • Ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met while adhering to approved budgets.
  • Implement marketing plans, including analyzing competitive products and marketing techniques, strategies, consumer research, and marketing legislation. Assist in the development of marketing plans for new products and services.
  • Coordinate company communications programs. Assist in designing, implementing, and coordinating market research policies and programs. Participate in market research studies to determine and define customer needs.
  • Monitor markets, industries, and companies to maintain an updated information base. Recommend product or service modifications based on marketing research or communication with appropriate staff. Conduct financial analysis/modeling for the marketing function as needed.
  • Develop and distribute reports that support marketing programs and management. Ensure timely generation and summarization of reports as appropriate.
  • Participate in statistical analysis of trending information and estimates of market development and potential. Implement advertising policies and assist in the formulation of general advertising campaigns. Manage advertising creation and media placement.
  • Review and evaluate the work of outside advertising agencies. Serve as a liaison between the company and outside agencies as needed.
  • Must be available to work evening and weekend committee meetings, events, and programs.
  • Perform all other duties as requested.
