About The Position

Friends University is seeking to fill the Marketing Specialist position in Wichita Kansas. The Marketing Specialist is an entry-level position that supports the execution of the University’s recruitment, marketing communications, and campaigns. Working closely with the Enrollment Marketing Manager and the Marketing Coordinator & Analyst, the Specialist produces and deploys content that helps Friends University reach and engage prospective students and families. As a member of a small, collaborative team, this position works as a marketing generalist and contributes to projects beyond its primary area of focus as needed. Work hours average 40 to 45 hours per week and include occasional evening and/or weekend hours for recruitment events.

Requirements

  • Zero to two years of experience in marketing or communications (entry-level).
  • Knowledge of social media platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
  • Experience with mass email programs a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills; ability to serve as a team player in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment, and to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with special emphasis on writing for email, web, and social media.
  • High degree of organization and attention to detail; ability to maintain confidential information in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Enrollment Market Manager with implementing and deploying recruitment communication plans across email, social media, print, video, CRM, and the website.
  • Build, schedule, and send communications, create supporting content, and help keep campaigns on schedule and on brand.
  • Create written and social content that supports recruitment campaigns while adhering to University brand standards.
  • Assist the Senior Designer with routine production needs and coordinate basic projects through completion.
  • Work with print vendors on marketing collateral as directed by the Marketing Coordinator & Analyst.
