About The Position

The Marketing Proposal Specialist will support our Aviation, Transportation, Development, Facilities, Structural, and Federal business units. This position will support the growth of the firm's business and client base. The Marketing Specialist will be a part of the Business Development (Marketing and Sales) team and will work closely with the firm's leaders and other staff within the Marketing and Sales team to develop compelling and compliant proposals and interview support material. This position is based in AVCON's Orlando, Florida office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, English or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of work experience in the A/E/C industry.
  • Basic understanding of Architecture, Engineering & Construction industry terminology and procedures.
  • Understanding of basic marketing and business development principles.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant graphic applications.
  • Working knowledge of CRM software and resources.
  • Advanced technical, graphic, presentation development, and presentation skills.
  • Passionate about the efforts to promote the firm to new and existing clients.
  • Self-starter/Entrepreneurial.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Attention to detail and understanding of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking.
  • Experience working independently as well as within cross-functional teams in a collaborative, professional environment.
  • Strong organization and effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and accurately, meeting deadlines and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts and storytelling in both written and graphic form.
  • Ability to produce accurate, compliant, and compelling work (independently or with others).
  • Excellent time and project management skills, passion for details, and ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining high quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to contribute creative/strategic insight while participating in brainstorming and strategy development. Ability to utilize a theme-based approach when developing proposals, presentations, and other marketing materials.
  • Ability to maintain good working relations with AVCON employees at all organizational levels. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Valid drivers' license and maintenance of satisfactory driving record.
  • Must be able to successfully mentor and provide pursuit oversight for marketing staff.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordinating, writing, editing, and producing statements of qualifications (SOQ), proposals, presentations, and other marketing collateral.
  • Identify and monitor SOQ/proposal criteria, and ensure the response is fully compliant.
  • Handle production and arrange for on-time delivery of SOQs/proposals.
  • Develop presentations or other marketing collateral for interview phase.
  • Assist in pursuit strategy and interview coaching as necessary.
  • Develop/maintain sector-focused boilerplate to be used as a master in proposals.
  • Work with technical staff to develop proposal sections, fees, and scopes of work.
  • Coordinate with Subcontractors/Subconsultants.
  • Participate in the interview preparation process and assist teams with developing and rehearsing presentations.
  • Maintain scheduling and tracking systems for individual pursuit and proposal elements and status.
  • Maintain systems to extract, categorize, and retrieve information on clients, consultants, personnel, projects, prior proposals, boilerplate, and necessary graphics visuals.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the company and market sector's capabilities and experience, key trends, and drivers impacting the market, and translate them into actionable marketing content and win strategies.
  • Partner with the BD and Technical staff to develop market-specific content and collateral for internal and external use.
  • Gather research data related to clients; and competitors; past, current, and prospective markets; and relevant corporate experience.
  • Support and update the firmwide database with employee, project, and proposal information continuously.
  • Mentor and provide pursuit oversight for marketing staff.
  • Nights and weekends are generally not required but may occasionally be necessary with little or no advanced notice.
