Marketing Operations Mgr

Great Southern Wood PreservingAbbeville, AL

About The Position

This role is responsible for leading marketing operations and ensuring the efficient execution of marketing strategies. The position involves managing day-to-day department operations, including capacity, resourcing, and prioritization across various teams and external partners. A key aspect of the role is managing the marketing technology stack, including Monday.com, DAM, CRM/loyalty, and marketing automation platforms. The role also involves leveraging AI for operational tasks such as drafting records, summarizing information, and generating reports, with a focus on setting and enforcing AI usage standards and data handling rules. Additionally, the position serves as the primary liaison for agencies and vendors, managing relationships, contracts, and reconciliations. Financial administration, including budget tracking, forecasting, and invoice management, is also a core responsibility, along with building executive dashboards for reporting on project status, workload, budget, and performance.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in a senior marketing leadership role — marketing operations, account/client leadership, or business operations — with direct ownership of budgets, resourcing, and scope, not just oversight of them.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong account management experience — comfortable working across multiple companies, agencies, vendors, and partners at once, and building trust quickly with each.
  • Demonstrated ability to master a work management platform quickly (Monday.com or comparable).
  • Fluent with AI assistants (Copilot, Claude, or similar) applied to real operational work — drafting, summarizing, reporting, analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills — comfortable interpreting budgets, dashboards, and performance data, with advanced Excel proficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Senior account or client leadership experience at a full-service advertising agency (Account Director, Group Account Director, VP Client Services, or equivalent), given this role's heavy day-to-day agency and vendor management.
  • Candidates without agency experience but with an equally strong track record on the above will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director to translate strategy into operational plans.
  • Run day-to-day department operations: capacity, resourcing, and prioritization across brands, internal teams, agencies, and vendors.
  • Support execution and reporting on the annual marketing plan.
  • Build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Own Monday.com as the department's central work management platform, plus the broader martech stack (DAM, CRM/loyalty, marketing automation).
  • Own the AI-assisted operating layer: direct AI to draft intake records, status rollups, briefs, and reports, with human review before anything counts.
  • Set and enforce the team's AI usage standards and data-handling rules with IT, keep configurations current, and train the team — including RMMs — on approved workflows.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day agency liaison: creative reviews, production schedules, approvals.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, SOWs, and invoice reconciliation.
  • Administer the department's operating budget: tracking, forecasting, PO/invoice management, Finance coordination.
  • Build executive dashboards on project status, workload, budget, and performance, with AI assembling first drafts on a reliable cadence.
