Marketing Operations Mgr

Great Southern Wood PreservingAbbeville, AL

About The Position

The Marketing Operations Mgr will partner with the Director to translate strategy into operational plans and run day-to-day department operations, including capacity, resourcing, and prioritization across brands, internal teams, agencies, and vendors. This role will support the execution and reporting on the annual marketing plan and build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. A key aspect of this role is owning the Marketing Technology & AI Operations, including Monday.com as the department's central work management platform and the broader martech stack (DAM, CRM/loyalty, marketing automation). The role will also own the AI-assisted operating layer, directing AI to draft various documents with human review, and setting/enforcing AI usage standards and data-handling rules with IT. Additionally, the Marketing Operations Mgr will serve as the primary day-to-day agency liaison, managing vendor relationships, contracts, SOWs, and invoice reconciliation. Business Operations & Reporting responsibilities include administering the department's operating budget and building executive dashboards on project status, workload, budget, and performance, with AI assisting in drafting these reports.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in a senior marketing leadership role — marketing operations, account/client leadership, or business operations — with direct ownership of budgets, resourcing, and scope, not just oversight of them.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong account management experience — comfortable working across multiple companies, agencies, vendors, and partners at once, and building trust quickly with each.
  • Demonstrated ability to master a work management platform quickly (Monday.com or comparable).
  • Fluent with AI assistants (Copilot, Claude, or similar) applied to real operational work — drafting, summarizing, reporting, analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills — comfortable interpreting budgets, dashboards, and performance data, with advanced Excel proficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Senior account or client leadership experience at a full-service advertising agency (Account Director, Group Account Director, VP Client Services, or equivalent), given this role's heavy day-to-day agency and vendor management.
  • Candidates without agency experience but with an equally strong track record on the above will be considered.

  • Set and enforce the team's AI usage standards and data-handling rules with IT, keep configurations current, and train the team — including RMMs — on approved workflows.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day agency liaison: creative reviews, production schedules, approvals.
