About The Position

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for conceptualizing, directing, and implementing all aspects of a strategic marketing plan for a regional shopping center that is aligned with the property’s business goals and long-term vision, with the results of increased center foot traffic, sales productivity, and retention. Positively position the center and the Company in the marketplace and shopping center industry. Responsible for effectively communicating with consumers through appropriate communication channels. Working cooperatively and collaboratively with General Manager and the Corporate Marketing Team to produce excellence in marketing quality and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) preferably in marketing from a four-year college or university; minimum Associate degree in marketing.
  • Three years related marketing experience in a relevant field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate to excellent math skills and analytical ability.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting frequent deadlines.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Intermediate to expert ability in using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and other software programs.
  • Intermediate to expert ability in using various social media platforms.
  • Intermediate ability in using website content management systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Full understanding and knowledge of current social media trends, including daily management of handles, best practices, trends, and platform differences.
  • Knowledge of how to use content creation tools such as Canva, iMovie, Clips, and Adobe SparkPost.
  • Understanding of Brand Voice and personality for mall communications.
  • Awareness of all partners' social media accounts and ability to tag them when partnering.
  • Strategic mindset when choosing particular tenants to promote.
  • Understanding of onsite event activations, including planning, executing, and hosting.
  • Ability to look at community wants and needs to determine suitable events for the market.
  • Ability to strategically integrate event plans with social media.
  • Understanding of how to put together a well-thought-out E-Blast and SMS communication messages.
  • Understanding of the market area competition and retail destination.

Responsibilities

  • Daily management of social media handles, best practices, trends, and platform differences.
  • Updating property information on Facebook and Instagram, including hours, address, and phone number.
  • Managing direct messages received from shoppers or tenants in a timely manner.
  • Developing and implementing strategic center events and activations to increase traffic, sales, social media engagement, and center awareness.
  • Planning, coordinating, and executing community relations events and networking with community leaders and institutions.
  • Developing an annual marketing plan for the property in conjunction with the General Manager and Field Marketing Manager, aligning with budget and portfolio guidelines.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing the annual budget, and managing reforecasts to stay on target.
  • Reviewing and analyzing social media analytics to shape future content for optimal results.
  • Planning and executing E-Blast and SMS communication messages for the center on a weekly/bi-weekly basis.
  • Planning and executing other media buys necessary for the market, such as radio and other digital advertisements.
  • Developing and managing an annual publicity plan, including preparing and distributing press releases and handling media inquiries.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong tenant relationships by consulting with and advising tenants on sales productivity and involving them in the center's marketing plan.
  • Acting as a liaison for tenants to be informed of their events and promotions and ensuring adequate exposure through the mall’s social media network programs.
  • Establishing community partnerships to enhance center awareness and traffic.
  • Providing market knowledge and merchant tours to leasing representatives.
  • Understanding tenant sales and retail trends (macro and micro).
  • Offering advertising solutions to tenants, such as RMU displays, mall signage, social media promotions, and event partnerships.
