About The Position

XDOF builds the data and operational infrastructure behind the next generation of robotics and AI. We help frontier labs and the entire robotics ecosystem develop general-purpose robots through scalable data collection, software, hardware, and operations.

We're hiring our founding Marketing Lead to own how XDOF shows up in the world to customers, to partners, and to future teammates. You’ll run major product launches, own our major marketing channels and curate our presence at events and conferences.

Our industry faces many unsolved challenges on its way to building general-purpose robots. Our customers are varied in their research directions and product applications. XDOF is their first call for all things data and infrastructure, and you’d have a unique opportunity to drive marketing for all the different ways we serve them. In one instance, you may be driving a product launch for an upcoming service that only XDOF can do. In another, you may be owning a technical report in partnership with our academic collaborators. No matter the project, your work is informed by taste, sophistication and ambition - the XDOF way.

Requirements

• Strong comms background. You write clearly and persuasively, you can find the through-line in a complex story, and you've owned messaging and content for a company or brand before.
• Comfort with technical and B2B subject matter. You can get fluent fast in robotics and AI, and translate between deeply technical people and the outside world.
• Real events experience. You've planned and run events, managed the logistics without drama, and know how to turn a conference or a dinner into pipeline and relationships.
• A head for strategy. You don't just execute briefs; you have opinions about positioning, audience, and timing, and you can make the case for them. This is the differentiator we care about most.
• Range across audiences. You can shift register between a frontier AI lab, a large industrial partner, and a candidate without losing the thread.
• A builder's temperament. Self-directed, comfortable with ambiguity, and energized by being early. You'd rather define the function than inherit one.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in AI, robotics, deep tech, data, or enterprise/B2B marketing.
• Startup or early-stage experience, especially as a first or early marketing hire.
• An existing network in the AI or robotics ecosystem.
• Familiarity with bringing a genuinely new offering to market.

Responsibilities

• Own marketing end to end: messaging, positioning, content, website, announcements, thought leadership, and the ongoing narrative about XDOF and the robotics industry.
• Turn a technical, nuanced business into a story that lands with very different audiences.
• Run our events and field presence: plan and execute XDOF's presence at industry conferences and curated gatherings of our own.
• Reach our key audiences deliberately: customers, consortium and data partners, and prospective hires.
• Build a distinct message and engagement strategy for each while keeping one coherent XDOF narrative.
• Build the foundation: set up the tools, cadences, and early processes a growing marketing function will need, and lay the groundwork for the team that follows.
