About The Position

The Marketing Intern will be a key driver in auditing, building, and automating our email marketing ecosystem. This high-impact role focuses on creating a sustainable, year-long email strategy for the Kehoe Designs family of brands (Kehoe Designs, Geraghty North, BlackOak Technical Productions, and The Geraghty). This position uses strategic storytelling to align email content with the marketing funnel, ensuring each brand reaches its target audience with precision. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of email production—from template architecture and storyline development to A/B testing and final deployment. The goal of this 3-month project is to leave our brands with a fully functioning, automated "year of content" ready for execution. Professional presentation design and graphic design as well as a firm demonstrable grasp of visuals, editing, and short form copy writing are paramount for this position. This position uses independent judgment and reports directly to the Marketing Manager.

Requirements

  • Current student or recent graduate with an emphasis in Marketing, Communications, Business, or Hospitality.
  • Demonstrable grasp of the marketing funnel and target audience segmentation.
  • Excellent short-form copywriting skills with an eye for "emotional" vs. "production-heavy" language.
  • Proficiency in email marketing platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Mailchimp, or Klaviyo) and design tools (Canva or Adobe Suite).
  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet a high-volume content production goal over 12 weeks.
  • Independent judgment and the ability to take a project from concept to "ready-to-send" with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Create a library of reusable, automated email templates for each of the four brands to streamline future communications.
  • Develop and draft high-impact email series tailored to specific business objectives.
  • Map content to the marketing funnel, ensuring the tone and call-to-action (CTA) match the audience’s stage (awareness, consideration, or conversion).
  • Manage the end-to-end process, including image selection, layout design, copywriting, and setting up A/B tests for subject lines and content.
  • Assists in identifying opportunities to modernize or refine the email journey based on audience data and historical engagement.
  • Brings the brand into every digital asset—ensuring that storytelling, tone, and visuals are consistent and compelling.
  • Works closely with the Creative and Sales teams to ensure all email assets uphold brand guidelines, properly reflect business initiatives and reflect relevant and inspirational aesthetics.

  • Overtime pay will be provided for hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek at 1.5x the regular rate of pay, in compliance with Illinois labor laws.
