About The Position

The Marketing Generalist plays a pivotal role in supporting Veterinary United’s brand presence, client engagement, and business growth across multiple hospital locations. This position is responsible for executing marketing strategies, creating high-quality content, and ensuring consistent brand standards across all platforms. This position combines creative execution with operational discipline, balancing content creation, campaign execution, social media management, digital marketing support, and project coordination. The Marketing Generalist must be able to take big ideas and turn them into usable content across digital platforms, including social media, video, web, email, and physical marketing materials such as flyers and event collateral.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3+ years of marketing, content creation, graphic design, communications, or digital marketing experience preferred.
  • Strong graphic design background with the ability to create branded, professional marketing materials independently.
  • Experience creating content for social media, email, web, video, print, and event based marketing needs.
  • Experience with campaign planning, project management, social media management, and deadline-driven execution.
  • Familiarity with email marketing, CRM platforms, website management, basic analytics, and digital marketing tools.
  • Video editing experience preferred.
  • Website design, website management, or SEO experience required.
  • Experience in veterinary medicine, healthcare, multi-location operations, or service-based organizations preferred.
  • Proficiency in the Windows platform is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute marketing campaigns across digital and in-clinic channels.
  • Maintain strong deadline ownership by managing timelines, priorities, and deliverables from concept through completion.
  • Translate strategic marketing initiatives into actionable marketing materials that support client engagement, community visibility, and hospital growth.
  • Partner with leadership to ensure campaigns are aligned with organizational goals, local site needs, and operational priorities.
  • Develop engaging, high-quality content for social media, email, web, video, print, and in-clinic marketing needs.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all content, including tone, visuals, formatting, messaging, and overall Veterinary United standards.
  • Maintain content consistency by organizing recurring campaigns, templates, social media calendars, and evergreen marketing materials.
  • Create flyers, event materials, digital graphics, website assets, and other branded collateral as needed.
  • Manage day-to-day social media planning, scheduling, posting, engagement, and content organization across digital platforms.
  • Support email and CRM marketing efforts, including audience segmentation, campaign builds, client communication, and follow-up messaging.
  • Assist with website updates, digital platform maintenance, basic SEO support, and online content accuracy.
  • Ensure content is timely, accurate, engaging, and aligned with campaign goals and local hospital initiatives.
  • Use a strong graphic design background to create professional, polished marketing assets that are visually aligned with the VU brand.
  • Edit short-form video content for social media, digital campaigns, recruiting, events, and hospital marketing needs.
  • Turn larger campaign ideas into usable content across social, video, web, email, and print platforms.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail in all design, formatting, spelling, grammar, branding, and final deliverables.
  • Monitor basic marketing metrics, including engagement, reach, email performance, campaign activity, and content effectiveness.
  • Use data-driven decision making to identify what is working, recommend improvements, and support stronger campaign outcomes.
  • Prepare basic updates or reports to communicate marketing performance, opportunities, and progress to leadership.
  • Evaluate campaign results and apply learning to future content planning and execution.
  • Manage multiple marketing projects at once while maintaining timely follow through and clear ownership of assigned work.
  • Demonstrate proactive communication with leadership, site teams, and cross functional partners regarding project status, needs, and deadlines.
  • Ensure local and operational alignment by tailoring marketing support to hospital needs, community events, service focus areas, and growth goals.
  • Maintain an ownership mentality by taking responsibility for quality, deadlines, follow-up, and final outcomes.
