This co-op opportunity is for a Marketing Events Co-Op at Northeastern University, based in Boston. The role requires full-time availability from January 2027 to June 2027. The co-op will be a critical part of building the talent engine for a high growth, global organization. The Marketing Events co-op will work closely with the Director of Events, Events Senior Manager, Event Managers, & the Americas Stakeholders. The ideal candidate is proactive, solutions-oriented, highly motivated, well-organized, able to multi-task, prioritize work activities, and meet tight deadlines. Requirements

  • Currently in an Undergraduate/Masters co-op program.
  • Ability to work full-time from January 2027 - June 2027.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with multiple stakeholders across the organization with patience, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills, with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Ability to proactively prioritize assignments and manage multiple projects and demands concurrently.
  • Strong computer skills in a Windows environment, including Outlook, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Ability to travel during peak season.
  • Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft Dynamics CRM experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support all external events including Flagships, conferences, forums, and roundtables.
  • Support and research all external conferences and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Conduct research, organize RFPs, and prepare resources for event location decisions.
  • Research potential sponsorship opportunities.
  • Manage all sponsorship activities, including sending marketing materials, coordinating booths, meetings, speaker bios, headshots, inventory, etc.
  • Create and maintain a list of potential event participants.
  • Assist with creating event postings on the SK website and other placement areas.
  • Manage all event social media image creation.
  • Understand Business Unit objectives to create impactful events.
  • Create and revise room layouts for each event.
  • Arrange food and beverage needs, order supplies and audiovisual equipment, make travel arrangements, order event signs, and ensure appropriate décor.
  • Reserve hotel room blocks and manage room registration details.
  • Serve as a liaison between vendors and SKP staff on event-related matters.
  • Provide pre, onsite, and post-event logistical management.
  • Send email invitations and reminders for internal events.
  • Coordinate efforts to drive event/webinar awareness and attendance via social media, PR, cold calling, etc.
  • Prepare nametags, marketing materials, notebooks, packages, gift bags, registration lists, seating cards, etc.
  • Propose new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process.
  • Design and standardize event feedback forms.
  • Record and track feedback and suggest innovative ideas for improvements.
  • Systematically track sources of event/webinar awareness.
  • Track and report all financial information to stakeholders.
  • Track ROI for activities.
