About The Position

The Marketing Engagement Specialist develops the planning, coordination, execution, and evaluation of initiatives that strengthen awareness, engagement, and connection to the Canvas brand across internal and external audiences. Working closely with the Head of Internal Branding, the broader Marketing team, and cross-functional stakeholders, this role develops activation and engagement plans, evaluates opportunities, recommends approaches, and leads assigned programs and platforms through execution and measurement. The position helps determine how Canvas physically shows up in meaningful and brand-aligned ways through engagement, community presence, events, sponsorships, activations, and other marketing initiatives. This role also develops budget and resource recommendations, establishes processes and success measures, analyzes performance, and makes informed adjustments that improve outcomes and maximize organizational value.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Head of Internal Branding to support initiatives that strengthen awareness, engagement, and connection to the Canvas brand.
  • Develop annual activation and engagement plans, aligned with Marketing and organizational objectives.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of initiatives that help Canvas physically show up in meaningful and brand-aligned ways across internal and external audiences.
  • Independently assess engagement and activation opportunities and determine recommended marketing approaches.
  • Serve as a professional representative of the Marketing team when supporting events, activations, meetings, and initiatives involving internal or external audiences.
  • Create and maintain organized systems for tracking projects, inventory, requests, event needs, activation materials, and other department resources.
  • Develop budget recommendations for engagement, activations, and assigned marketing initiatives. Monitor performance against budget, evaluate effectiveness, and recommend adjustments to maximize impact, participation and organizational value.
  • Develop measurement frameworks and success metrics for engagement and activation programs, analyze results and spending effectiveness, and provide recommendations that inform future planning, investment decisions, and resource allocation.
  • Prioritize initiatives and allocate resources based on business impact and budget considerations.
  • Lead assigned engagement programs and channels from concept through execution and evaluation.
  • Evaluate engagement, sponsorship, and activation opportunities and make recommendations to leadership.
  • Collaborate with departments, branches, and Marketing team members to understand needs, gather information, coordinate resources, and support timely execution.
  • Establish standards, processes, and operating procedures for activation and engagement initiatives.
  • Support the consistent application of Canvas brand standards across activations, engagement efforts, promotional materials, events, and other marketing-supported initiatives.
  • Analyze engagement and activation data and determine strategic adjustments to improve outcomes.
  • Make decisions regarding vendor selection, event approaches, and deployment of marketing resources within approved parameters.
  • Maintain strong working relationships across Marketing, Retail, supporting departments, and other internal stakeholders to help ensure alignment and collaboration.
  • Stay informed on evolving marketing, engagement, event, community, and brand activation trends that may help enhance future initiatives.
  • Comply with Bank Secrecy Act, BSA, and other compliance requests and requirements.
  • Follow all safety and security guidelines to properly safeguard member and organization assets.
  • Embrace ongoing education and learn/apply new skills, tools, systems, and software applications.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.
