About The Position

Directs the overall coordination of the internal and external public relations, continuous marketing and advertising activities for St. Luke. Develops programs designed to market existing services, identify potential new services, and execute programs of action to increase both inpatient and outpatient volume. Maintains consistent, professional image for St Luke and serves as a marketing consultant with administration, department managers, and key staff to determine, develop, initiate, maintain, and monitor marketing and advertising strategies within budget in support of the St. Luke mission. Manage the fund-raising campaign for the St. Luke Foundation including the tax credit program. Prepare, print and distribute Foundation Annual Report and Newsletter. Plan events associated with fund-raisers. Report to the Foundation Board each month and provide direction for the overall movement of Foundation. Promote Foundation through solicitation or other events which include working with community groups and the public.

Requirements

  • Experience in a marketing environment preferred.
  • Continually updates knowledge base by attending seminars on job related issues.
  • Bachelors Degree, and/or Foundation Non-Profit 501c experience.
  • Able to communicate and network with all people; ability to prioritize and manage several projects and deadlines at the same time; builder of good relationships with others in the organization, including physicians; to enable honest communication, good listener; knowledge of techniques for development of electronic media and printed materials; capable of finding sources for information and being a resource for others; competent desktop publishing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Chair the marketing committee. Responsible for the coordination (with department input) and approval of all marketing and communications materials for St. Luke including advertising, billboards, news releases, ads, brochures, displays and public material distributed to customers and to the community businesses.
  • Responsible for the Community Benefit Program - a program designed to track what St. Luke gives back to our community. Attend meetings to assist with this program.
  • Responsible for the development and upkeep of the St. Luke Website and all social media including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn with input from department managers.
  • Maintain a marketing calendar of marketing and Public Relations events for St. Luke.
  • Develop a St. Luke Marketing Plan and maintain the marketing budget.
  • Coordinate activities for marketing and PR events throughout the community such as but not limited to National Healthcare Week, Dinky Duck Race Fundraiser, community parades, open houses, hospital tours, etc. working with other community agencies to promote the Hospital, Living Center, Home Care, and Clinic.
  • Maintain relationships with area media and arrange media coverage as appropriate.
  • Develop and publish the public newsletter as determined by the marketing committee. Assist HR Director with putting out the Employee Newsletter quarterly.
  • Develop and publish the hospital annual report.
  • Coordinates purchase of St. Luke promotional items.
  • Assists with Grant Writing and Fund Raising Activities
  • Track gifts to the Foundation, compose thank you's, reminders and overdue pledge letters. Mail yearly tax receipts to donors. Collect and deposit gifts into Foundation account. Generate monthly donor/pledge reports.
  • Cultivate new and maintain active relationships with donors and prospective donors.
  • Manage and maintain consistency with policies regarding tax credit program. Award credit to qualified donors by providing correct information/paperwork to donor.
  • Compose Foundation Annual Report and Newsletter in design program. Include the Annual Foundation Report as part of St. Luke Annual Report.
  • Plan at least 2 annual events such as Foundation fund-raisers or a marketing event which includes leading the planning of annual Dinky Duck and Fall Foundation Benefit Dinner event and setting up other events such as golf tournament, Public relations giveaways, etc.
  • Report to the Foundation Board each month with information that includes but is not limited to: presenting monthly donor/pledge report which includes campaign progress/updates while maintaining confidentiality; asking for input from Board Members on PR events, solicitation ideas, etc.; leading/helping board members with their own solicitations/visits; providing direction for overall movement of Foundation.
  • Promote Foundation through solicitation or other events which includes but is not limited to: work with groups such as MAC, MEDI and others to help promote donations not just to St. Luke but Marion in general; work with local attorneys to help encourage those who have wills to leave their money to local entities, especially the Foundation/Hospital; attend community organizational meetings such as and not limited to Kiwanis, MEDI, and others to help keep those abreast of what the hospital/Foundation is currently doing; keep public informed of Foundation happenings through local media outlets including television, newspaper, Facebook, etc.; continue to inform public the Foundation is an entity in itself and attend workshops on how to promote the Foundation.
