About The Position

CULTA is seeking a Director of Marketing to join its executive leadership team. This role will be responsible for leading the company's brand strategy, marketing execution, and communications across retail, wholesale, and digital platforms. The Director will oversee brand positioning, product marketing, customer engagement, and internal/external communications to maintain CULTA's position in the Maryland cannabis industry. The Marketing Director will drive revenue growth and strengthen brand presence by leading an integrated marketing strategy across brand, retail, and wholesale channels. This includes overseeing campaign development, promotional strategy, brand execution, and customer engagement, ensuring consistency across all consumer and customer touchpoints. The role requires cross-functional collaboration with Retail, Sales, Product, and Operations teams to bring products and campaigns to market, optimize performance, and deliver a cohesive brand experience.

Requirements

  • 6–10+ years of experience in marketing, including brand, retail, or multi-channel marketing.
  • Experience leading integrated marketing strategies across multiple channels.
  • Strong understanding of brand execution, promotional strategy, and customer lifecycle marketing.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with sales, retail, and product teams.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to use data to inform decisions and drive results.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to build and manage teams.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the cannabis industry, including knowledge of dispensary operations and product categories.
  • Experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG), retail, or regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with cannabis compliance requirements related to marketing and promotions.
  • Experience with CRM, e-commerce, and marketing technology platforms
  • Hands-on design experience in Canva, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and positioning of new and existing CULTA brands, including brand story, voice, visual identity, and market differentiation.
  • Establish and maintain brand guidelines to ensure consistency across packaging, retail, wholesale, and digital channels.
  • Oversee packaging strategy for new and existing products, ensuring alignment with brand positioning and market needs and ensuring regulatory requirements are met.
  • Manage packaging timelines, revisions, and approvals to ensure readiness for product launches.
  • Develop and execute strategies to support CULTA brands within wholesale partner dispensaries.
  • Partner with Sales and Wholesale teams to ensure effective brand presence, merchandising, and promotional support at partner locations.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen brand visibility and performance within the wholesale channel.
  • Oversee retail marketing strategy and execution across all CULTA dispensary locations.
  • Develop and manage promotional planning, campaign calendars, and in-store marketing initiatives to drive traffic and conversion.
  • Partner with Retail, Procurement and Creative teams to optimize customer experience, product visibility, and sales performance.
  • Oversee in-store signage, merchandising, and promotional execution.
  • Oversee the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across retail, wholesale, and digital channels.
  • Direct creative teams to ensure high-quality, on-brand asset development and execution.
  • Build and maintain a library of content and assets to support marketing, training, and communications.
  • Collaborate with external partners and vendors to execute campaigns and initiatives.
  • Define and track key marketing KPIs, including revenue growth, customer acquisition, retention, and campaign performance.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for optimization.
  • Oversee digital marketing efforts including CRM, email, SMS, and paid media to drive acquisition and retention.
  • Lead the development and optimization of the e-commerce experience, including menu merchandising and conversion strategies.
