Marketing Director | Head of Growth

SpaceManager ClosetsHouston, TX
Onsite

About The Position

SpaceManager Closets is Houston's largest custom closet and built-in cabinetry company, with in-house manufacturing, CAD design, and installation. After 25+ years, we are building an in-house marketing engine to grow the business over the next two to three years — replacing inconsistent agency-run lead generation with a predictable, owned system. We are looking for a hands-on marketing leader — a player-coach — to own that engine. You will be accountable for the number: consistent, affordable, qualified leads for our design consultations. You will lead our They Ask, You Answer content strategy, direct our content and video producers, and either run paid media in-house or manage it tightly through a specialist. This is not a role for someone who only delegates; you will still build strategy, run the dashboards, and get into the work.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in marketing with real ownership of a lead or revenue number, ideally at a home-improvement, home-services, remodeling, or considered-purchase / high-ticket local business.
  • Comfortable being a player-coach in a lean team where people wear multiple hats.
  • Fluent in inbound/content marketing.
  • Hands-on with paid search and paid social, and able to judge whether an agency is performing.
  • Strong with HubSpot (or comparable CRM/marketing automation) and analytics; you make decisions from data.
  • A clear operator: you build calendars, scorecards, and processes and hold people to cadence.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with They Ask, You Answer is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with video-first marketing.
  • Familiarity with local SEO.
  • Familiarity with using AI tools to move faster.

Responsibilities

  • Own the lead number. End-to-end accountability for marketing-sourced leads, cost per lead, and lead-to-consultation conversion.
  • Develop and manage the overall marketing strategy and the editorial calendar, built from the real questions our buyers ask about cost, comparisons, and process.
  • Run a weekly revenue-team sync so content and campaigns answer real buyer questions and feed the sales team.
  • Own the paid media budget — running it in-house or directing an agency to our metrics — and hold it to predictable output.
  • Build and maintain a weekly scorecard of leading indicators and report results to the CEO.
  • Direct and develop the content manager and, as we scale, the videographer and demand/ops hires.
  • Set and protect production cadence — hold content and video output steady week over week.
  • Run the HubSpot dashboard and turn data into decisions on spend, channels, and topics.
  • Manage the paid search and social program (or the agency running it) toward a stable cost per booked consultation.
  • Sit with sales weekly to mine buyer questions and route them into content and video.
  • Write and shape strategy, briefs, and high-value copy yourself — not just assign it.
  • Continuously tighten the funnel: landing pages, offers, follow-up, and attribution.
