Marketing Digital Intern
About The Position
This is a paid, 11-week summer internship at Werner Enterprises’ corporate headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska. The program offers dedicated job training, learning opportunities, real-world experience, and a collaborative, inclusive work environment. Some remote and off-site opportunities may be available. Paid housing or housing assistance may also be available. The role supports digital marketing campaigns, analytics, company events, and content development. Internship development activities include Lessons with Leaders sessions, a mentor program, intern activities, community support events, networking, and a summer project proposal and presentation.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Marketing or a related field.
- A passion for marketing, branding, and communications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and execute targeted email marketing campaigns in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Manage audience segmentation, data hygiene, and Journey Builder workflows to deliver personalized messaging.
- Track, analyze, and report marketing campaign and website performance metrics, including open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates, using marketing analytics tools.
- Conduct ongoing A/B testing of email copy, design layouts, and call-to-action buttons to optimize campaign performance.
- Partner with sales and operations teams to align lead scoring and customer data between Marketing Cloud and the core Salesforce CRM.
- Support company events through pre-campaign promotion, registration management, and on-site execution.
- Capture and edit multimedia content, including photos and short-form video from company events, for social and internal communications.
- Conduct industry research to inform articles, content strategy, and marketing initiatives.
- Translate campaign analytics into actionable insights to improve return on investment across digital channels and live event activations.
