About The Position

The Marketing & Design Manager at Sonesta Hotels of New York is responsible for developing and executing NYC branded and property-level marketing and design strategies that drive awareness and maximize revenue across all NYC hotels, Food & Beverage, and spa outlets. The Marketing & Design Manager is a hybrid creative and strategic role and will focus on the development of integrated campaigns, oversees all creative and brand assets, and brings the guest experience to life through engaging creative designs developed for digital, social media, photography, and assist with on-property activations. Reporting to the Director of Digital Marketing in New York City, the Marketing & Design Manager will lead the creative design and support with marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment with brand standards and digital best practices.

  • Creating fully integrated seasonal and promotional campaigns across email, social, web and display
  • Designing and producing marketing materials
  • Assisting with branded giveaways
  • Supporting operations teams with on-property signage and printed collateral
  • Developing spa templates
  • Developing restaurant F&B designs
  • Ensuring all creative follows the latest Brand Guidelines
  • Leading the Digital Spice web agency relationship
  • Managing website content updates, web forms and SEO optimization
  • Owning the creative development, QA testing and execution of all email marketing campaigns
  • Managing Cendyn email platform and vendor
  • Developing A/B testing for campaigns and targeted sends
  • Leading the photography for social media and PR
  • Collaborating closely with Director of Marketing in concept, style and executing shoots
  • Developing photo direction and mood boards for hosted Influencers
  • Working with the team on managing photographers and stylists
  • Managing photo library and asset organization
  • Overseeing photo and video editing and retouching
  • Providing on-site guidance for architectural and lifestyle photo/video shoots
  • Ensuring a consistent visual aesthetic that aligns with the Sonesta Brands
  • Creating engaging, visually compelling visual content including reels, stories, and short-form video
  • Supporting the Sonesta White Plains property with social media calendar and photography/content
  • Assisting with on-property experiences
  • Ensuring all activations are aligned with the brand standards
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with operations, sales, and corporate field and brand teams
  • Participating in internal and external meetings and calls with sales, corporate field marketing, and external Social Media, Website and CRM agencies
  • Monitoring trends and identifying new opportunities
  • Preparing monthly reports with insights and recommendations

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain brand standards across all visual touchpoints
  • Create fully integrated seasonal and promotional campaigns across email, social, web and display
  • Design and produce marketing materials including: Digital ads, email campaigns, and landing pages; Social media graphics and video assets; On-property signage and collateral; Sales decks and presentations; GDS Ads; Invitations; Templates for the marketing and sales team to utilize
  • Assist with branded giveaways
  • Focus on supporting operations teams with on-property signage and printed collateral
  • Develop spa templates to support the external spa team in ensuring brand standards are followed – fonts, colors, logos, etc
  • Restaurant F&B designs include website, emails, printed collateral for menus, check-presenter, catering events, signage, postcards, etc
  • Ensure all creative follows the latest Brand Guidelines provided by the corporate team
  • Lead the Digital Spice web agency relationship
  • Manage website content updates, web forms and SEO optimization for the vanity site and the restaurant website
  • Own the creative development, QA testing and execution of all email marketing campaigns for Sonesta Hotels of New York, The Benjamin and ad-hoc sales/catering emails
  • Manage Cendyn email platform and vendor
  • Develop A/B testing for campaigns and targeted sends based on past guests, OTA, lapsed guest, etc.
  • Lead the photography for social media and PR for the hotels and restaurants
  • Collaborate closely with Director of Marketing in concept, style and execute shoots for: Hotel guest rooms and suites; Food & beverage (menus, cocktails, dining experiences); Spa and wellness experiences; Seasonal activations and events
  • Develop photo direction and mood boards for hosted Influencers
  • Work with the team on managing photographers and stylists
  • Manage photo library and asset organization in the Sonesta Brand DAM and internal NY team folders
  • Oversee photo and video editing and retouching
  • Provide on-site guidance for architectural and lifestyle photo/video shoots based on hotel design needs
  • Ensure a consistent visual aesthetic that aligns with the Sonesta Brands
  • Create engaging, visually compelling visual content including reels, stories, and short-form video for all platforms including Instagram, Facebook and Linked In
  • Supports the Sonesta White Plains property with social media calendar and photography/content
  • Assist with on-property experiences (seasonal installations, wellness activations, dining events)
  • Ensure all activations are aligned with the brand standards
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, and corporate field and brand teams
  • Participate in internal and external meetings and calls with sales, corporate field marketing, and external Social Media, Website and CRM agencies to help ensure alignment and follow-through on initiatives.
  • Monitor trends and identify new opportunities for website, CRM, Social Media and Display
  • Prepare monthly reports with insights and recommendations
