About The Position

US Foods is seeking an Area Marketing Coordinator to lead marketing support for non-hub Markets within an Area, aligning with national marketing objectives. This in-office, hourly paid position involves working under the direct supervision of the Area Marketing Manager to develop and execute local marketing activities such as sales meetings, customer events, product trainings, and vendor/broker activities. The role collaborates with various internal teams and external partners to execute the annual marketing plan and strategies, ensuring brand awareness and market share growth. The position requires travel between Clifton Park/Albany and Watertown, NY locations 6-8 times a year for one-day events.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years related office experience.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of office administrative procedures.
  • Knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment.
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills.
  • Sound understanding of marketing principles.
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent working partnerships and interface with a variety of internal and external resources to attain organizational goals.
  • Proficient communication skills.
  • Able to work with various content management and online marketing systems.
  • Self-directed and highly motivated.
  • Proficiency required in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency required in the use of Adobe InDesign.

  • An advanced internet aptitude strongly desired.
  • Adobe InDesign proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop tactics at non-hub markets that align with center and area initiatives.
  • Support the Area Marketing Manager in day-to-day needs.
  • Help design, create, and execute marketing plays.
  • Manage spend on select events, meetings, sponsorships, and incentives held at non-hub markets.
  • Oversee marketing and sales activities by organizing and expediting objectives, presentations, meetings, etc.
  • Disseminate Market specific information quickly and accurately.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (VP Sales, Specialists, Chefs, Merchandising) to deliver center-led strategies that drive brand awareness and strengthen market share.
  • Help craft marketing deliverables and oversee distribution of marketing and sales materials.
  • Oversee local market activities, including meetings, department activities, and/or conferences.
  • Assert understanding of local market trends and consumer behavior to strengthen campaign execution.
  • Act as the primary communicator between non-hub and hub markets, ensuring timely and consistent correspondence.
  • Manage brand guidelines to ensure consistency.
  • Correspond with vendors and brokers to ensure compliance with established procedures, processes, and branding.
  • Manage seller training opportunities.
  • Interact with customers and vendors on local Market activities, including planning, onsite execution, and post-event follow-up.
  • Find opportunities to leverage social media channels and digital marketing platforms to expand local market footprint.
