About The Position

Works within the firm's Marketing Department and supports marketing business development efforts, primarily assisting with a wide variety of pitch/proposal/client meeting materials and brochures; marketing event materials; and ensuring that internal business development databases and project files/records are up-to-date, thorough, and accurate. This role also includes supporting the planning and execution of marketing events, including managing invitations and RSVPs, coordinating invoicing, and overseeing the shipping of materials. Helps with requested pitches, proposals, and RFP responses, including gathering content from existing databases, proofreading/editing content, formatting materials in existing templates, and assisting with print production and delivery. Supports marketing and business development events, including assisting with event planning and logistics; managing event invitations and RSVPs; coordinating invoicing and expense tracking; and overseeing the shipping, receipt, and return of event materials. Provides administrative and logistical support for legal industry rankings and awards submissions, including assisting with data gathering, drafting support materials, tracking deadlines, and coordinating information with attorneys and the marketing team. Tracks status of projects and outcomes, and follows up as needed to pinpoint the end result of pitches/proposals/RFPs/meetings. Helps keep marketing systems, including experience and CRM databases, up to date. Helps maintain updated content of all BD materials, including practice brochures, office brochures, client lists, mailing lists, case/work summaries, BD databases, and internal project files. Collaborates with members of the marketing team and other departments as necessary to ensure the ongoing accuracy and thoroughness of BD materials, including case summaries and experience descriptions. Monitors internal and external resources to stay abreast of firm and industry activities/trends that offer opportunities to enhance the department's ability to provide best-practices BD services to our attorney clients. Assists as needed with BD research, including gathering information on firm clients, prospective clients, and competitors from a variety of internal and external sources. Helps create metrics to allow BD team to continually analyze and improve our efforts/projects. Maintains library of exemplar BD project samples and templates. Coordinates internal meetings and agendas as necessary. Provides backup services to the Marketing department on an as-needed basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, English, or similar area of study
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in a professional services industry, preferably in legal marketing; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent writing/editing and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop)
