About The Position

The Marketing Content Specialist is a hands-on, execution-focused role within the Marketing Team, responsible for creating and managing digital content across social media, email, and marketing campaigns. This role is heavily focused on content creation, social media execution, and email support, with an emphasis on Canva design, short-form video, and fast-paced production. While digital content is the primary focus, this position is a team-based role, where all Marketing members collaborate on planning calendars, campaigns, and ideas—while also supporting broader marketing needs such as signage, promotions, and in-store events. This position is in-office in Minnetrista, with occasional travel to other store locations (Waconia and Lonsdale MN).

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent experience
• 1–3 years experience in marketing, content creation, or social media
• Strong Canva experience (daily design use)
• Experience creating and editing short-form video content
• Familiarity with social media platforms and scheduling tools
• Basic experience with email marketing platforms (MailerLite or similar)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume content environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Creative thinker with strong attention to detail
• Ability to execute quickly while maintaining quality
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
• Organized and adaptable with shifting priorities

Nice To Haves

• Experience with retail, grocery, or customer-facing brands is a plus
• Photography experience (product or lifestyle)
• Basic Adobe skills (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, etc.)
• Copywriting experience for short-form marketing content
• Experience working with brand guidelines

Responsibilities

• Create and schedule daily social media content (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
• Build visual assets using Canva for social, promotions, and campaigns
• Capture and edit short-form video content (Reels, Stories, promotional clips)
• Assist in developing engaging, on-brand captions and messaging
• Be comfortable appearing on camera for promotional or social content
• Build and assist in execution of weekly email campaigns
• Execute email setup using templates and layouts aligned with brand standards
• Support content planning for promotions, events, and seasonal campaigns inconsistency with brand guidelines.
• Actively participate in team planning sessions for marketing calendars and campaigns
• Collaborate with team members to develop creative ideas and content opportunities
• Support other team members’ projects and initiatives as needed
• Assist with creation of in-store signage and marketing materials
• Support execution of promotions, events, and seasonal campaigns
• Travel to store locations to capture content and support marketing initiatives (ie: events such as Holiday Open Houses & filming department requests)
• Respond to general marketing requests from stores and departments
• Monitor and respond to social media comments and messages in brand voice
• Escalate customer concerns when necessary
• Help maintain a positive and engaging online presence
• Perform duties in a manner that protects and enhances the Mackenthun’s brand
• Collaborate with store teams and leadership across all locations
