About The Position

Bully Pulpit International (BPI) is seeking a Marketing & Content Director to serve as the primary storyteller and strategic engine for the BPI brand. This role is ideal for a content-first strategist with a background in agency marketing, editorial, or hard news production, who has a genuine passion for the communications space and is energized by the evolving political and corporate landscape. Reporting to the Managing Director of New Business and collaborating with senior leadership, the Director will drive a sophisticated editorial agenda across BPI's podcast, social platforms, and research reports to establish BPI as an authoritative voice among global business and policy leaders. Responsibilities include managing industry and trade relationships, translating complex data into compelling thought leadership, and transforming internal innovation into a market-facing brand narrative to fuel agency growth and open doors for new business. The goal is to help BPI establish itself as a world-class firm defining the future of global communications.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in an agency marketing role, a newsroom, or a production-heavy editorial environment.
  • Deep understanding of the professional services world.
  • Proven experience managing multi-channel content streams (e.g., podcasts, social, long-form reports) from ideation to execution.
  • Understanding of how to market expertise and distill technical data into narratives that resonate with C-suite and policy audiences.
  • Ability to sit with subject matter experts, digest complex geopolitical data or technical insights, and distill them into a compelling narrative.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Skilled at explaining complex ideas to broad audiences.
  • Ability to pivot from long-term strategy to rapid-response opportunities.
  • Ability to see around the corner of industry trends and position BPI as a leader.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and influence at the senior leadership level.
  • Proven experience managing junior staff and external vendors.

  • Serve as the primary storyteller and strategic engine for the BPI brand.
  • Drive a sophisticated editorial agenda, including BPI's podcast, social platforms, and research reports.

  • Manage high-level press requests and initiate outreach to top-tier outlets.
  • Prep senior colleagues for interviews, panels, and global conferences.
  • Partner with executive leadership to amplify their external profiles.

  • Drive the marketing strategy and execution for major announcements (e.g., acquisitions, ELT-level hires, product rollouts).
  • Oversee the execution of routine website maintenance and direct high-level design overhauls and technical projects.
