About The Position

Family and employee-owned Decorah Bank & Trust is seeking a full-time Marketing Communications Coordinator to join their team. This position combines social media, content marketing, and product marketing to tell the story of Decorah Bank & Trust, with the successful candidate being a driving force behind the brand voice. Standout copywriting skills and attention to detail are essential for crafting, scheduling, and publishing engaging content across social channels, the website, blog, and more. The bank is looking for someone who brings bold ideas, loves capturing memorable moments through photo and video, and thrives in a fun, collaborative setting. As with all positions, this role is responsible for assisting the bank in complying with applicable state and federal banking rules and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, and must uphold the bank’s Core Values, Code of Conduct, and Service Standards.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree required.
  • Two to four years of experience in marketing or related field, with responsibility for social media content creation and community management, or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a sharp eye for detail.
  • Hands-on experience managing corporate social media accounts and building online communities.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and scheduling tools, basic design tools (i.e. Canva), email and marketing automation platforms (i.e. Constant Contact, MailChimp, etc).
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-starter, with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines at the same time.
  • A collaborative mindset with a strong desire to learn and grow within a fast-paced team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related field.
  • Experience in financial services marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement social media strategies aligned to business goals.
  • Create, schedule & publish content across social media platforms.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages and mentions to foster community engagement.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Team and key stakeholders to develop cross-channel assets.
  • Track social media performance metrics to understand reach and engagement.
  • Stay current with platform updates, emerging social trends and best practices.
  • Develop and execute content marketing strategies that align with business goals and target audience needs.
  • Create high-quality, engaging content across various formats, that could include, but is not limited to web or blog content, email campaigns, educational assets, videos and more.
  • Create and manage financial education content and vendor(s) relationships, if applicable.
  • Research customer needs and market trends to help us position our products effectively against competitors.
  • Support new product or feature launches by drafting targeted messaging and promotional materials.
  • Work with Marketing Team and key stakeholders to create sales enablement resources such as marketing collateral, campaigns (owned, earned and/or paid media), referral programs and customer testimonials.
  • Capture photo and video at internal and external events, as assigned.
  • Serve as Marketing Representative on “Hoopla” bank culture team.
  • Coordinate weekly staff meeting calendar invitation and notes distribution.
  • Assist and support other bank functions outside the normal scope of duties as needed to contribute to the overall success of the organization.
