About The Position

We have an exciting opportunity at the City of Thousand Oaks’ Bank of America Performing Arts Center (BAPAC)! We are seeking an enthusiastic, collaborative, and motivated part-time Marketing Assistant (Hourly City Worker) to perform a variety of duties pertaining to the administration and promotion of over 250 annual events at the BAPAC. Help us inspire, transform, and build our brand through exceptional marketing and promotion. The ideal candidate will have a knowledge and passion for the performing arts. As a Marketing Assistant, this position will report to the Director of Marketing and assist with emails, social media, websites, and other general office support and administrative duties. This individual is expected to be self-motivated, responsible, and able to work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment. The Marketing Assistant is a part-time, hourly, at-will position that requires working approximately 15-25 hours per week, not to exceed 1,000 hours per fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th).

Responsibilities

  • Create and distribute a variety of electronic communications
  • Develop and post engaging content on social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube)
  • Assist with the upkeep and maintenance of websites related to BAPAC events and activities
  • Create in-house digital posters and lobby displays
  • Edit, proofread, and refine content for accuracy and clarity
  • Perform other duties as assigned
