About The Position

Tourism Whistler is seeking a Marketing Assistant to join their Marketing Services department. This role provides administrative and marketing support to the Content Marketing and Travel Media teams. The ideal candidate will act as a Tourism Whistler ambassador, assisting with content development for social media and the Go Whistler Tours app, coordinating contest prizing, preparing media FAM gift bags, providing administrative support, and assisting with monthly and project reporting. Responsibilities also include maintaining the media database and supporting the administration of digital and content assets. This position is part of the Canada Summer Jobs Program, open to youth up to 30 years of age who are Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent related experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities
  • Technical aptitude with proven computer skills
  • Interest in, and understanding of, the marketing, social media, and travel media landscape
  • Open to youth up to 30 years of age
  • Must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada

Responsibilities

  • Act as a Tourism Whistler ambassador, living our purpose and vision with passion & energy, achievement and respect
  • Assisting with developing content for social media channels (e.g. Instagram stories)
  • Supporting with content on Go Whistler Tours app
  • Assisting with the coordination of itineraries and other prizing for contest winners
  • Assisting with building and distributing gift bags for media FAMs
  • Providing team administrative support
  • Assisting with monthly and project reporting such as travel media coverage results, social media engagement, blog traffic and advertising results
  • Maintenance of media database
  • Supporting with administration of digital and content assets
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
